Care for mixed flooring

Clear equipment boundaries

Touchpoint cleaning separated from maintenance and disassembly.

Follow the member route through the facility

Members move through reception, workout areas and restrooms throughout the day. The cleaning list should follow that route while recognizing that each surface is used differently. Entrance dirt, fingerprints on shared doors and soil around benches call for different attention from a quiet staff office.

Tell us which rooms are used by every member and which are booked for classes. A studio with short breaks between sessions may need a different cleaning window from an open gym that stays occupied late. Staff wiping between users and a commercial cleaning visit serve different parts of that routine.

Use the equipment and flooring care instructions

Exercise equipment may combine electronics, coated metal, upholstery and rubber grips. Tell us what can be cleaned and provide manufacturer instructions for the equipment included. Maintenance, lubrication, moving heavy machines and disassembly are not part of ordinary cleaning.

Floor materials need the same attention. Identify rubber flooring, wood, vinyl and tile rather than requesting one treatment for the entire facility. Loose weights, mats and personal items should be cleared from the area being cleaned under an agreed handoff with your team.

Specify touchpoint cleaning without overstating the result

Shared contact surfaces need a task list, suitable products and enough time for the intended process. Where disinfection is included, use the product according to its label. A commercial cleaning visit does not make a gym germ-free or replace staff and member practices throughout the day.

Report damaged upholstery, persistent moisture or a suspected contamination issue before booking. Pools, saunas, specialized wellness equipment and mold remediation are not implied by a general fitness-facility cleaning service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does gym cleaning include wiping exercise machines?

Only the equipment surfaces specifically agreed in the quote. Provide the manufacturer care instructions; cleaning is separate from servicing or moving the machines.

Can you clean before the first class?

Tell us the class and staff arrival times so an available cleaning window and any necessary floor drying time can be discussed.

Do you clean studio mirrors?

Accessible mirrors can be included as a named task. Identify their size, condition and any equipment or fixtures that block access.

Are showers, pools and saunas included?

Do not assume they are. Describe each area separately. Pool systems, specialized equipment and remediation work are outside ordinary gym cleaning.
