A useful reset

What makes a commercial clean a deep clean?

The difference is the work, not the label on the booking. Deep cleaning can include soil that takes repeated attention, surfaces outside the everyday route and areas that require furniture to be cleared. A short general checklist will not tell you whether those tasks are actually included.

Begin with the problems you can point to: residue around a sink, dust on reachable ledges, dirty floor edges or marks behind a movable fixture. Photographs are useful because “needs a good clean” can describe anything from light dust to a surface that needs repair.

A first clean before recurring janitorial service

Starting a maintenance schedule on top of old buildup can lead to disappointment. The routine visit may be designed to keep clean surfaces maintained, not to spend hours on neglected corners. A separate initial clean makes it clear which work establishes the starting condition.

After that reset, the recurring checklist can keep the main rooms in order and place slower-building tasks on a periodic schedule. If one area repeatedly becomes difficult to clean, it may need more frequent attention or a change in how the space is used.

Make hidden areas accessible before the visit

The cleanable area is not always the entire floor area. Boxes under desks, full shelves and heavy equipment can prevent access to the places that need attention. Identify what your staff will clear and which items must remain in place. Inside cabinets, refrigerators and other storage spaces need separate instructions.

Provide a safe work window for wet-floor tasks and anything that creates noise. If part of the business stays open, choose which rooms can close temporarily and how customers or staff will move around them. This is especially useful when several departments share one restroom or kitchen.

  • Point out the worst areas during the quote or in clear photographs.
  • Remove personal items and sensitive documents from surfaces being cleaned.
  • Identify fragile finishes and provide their care instructions.
  • Decide who moves furniture and empties storage areas.
  • Keep access to working water, power and the agreed waste point available.

Be clear about cleaning, repair and specialist work

A deeper clean can remove dirt without repairing the surface beneath it. Etching, worn coatings, damaged grout and permanent staining may still be visible. If a material needs restoration, that should be identified rather than hidden behind a promise that everything will look new.

Mold remediation, sewage cleanup, hazardous material removal and regulated waste handling are not ordinary commercial deep cleaning. Tell us about leaks, unknown residue or contamination before booking so the enquiry can be directed to the appropriate type of service.

Before You Book

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book a deep clean without recurring service?

Yes. A one-time commercial clean can be quoted on its own. Provide the current condition, the tasks you want done and your preferred date.

Does deep cleaning include every surface?

No. The quote names the rooms, surfaces and accessible heights included. Inside storage, high areas, furniture movement and specialist floor work need to be described separately.

Can you deep clean after an office move?

Yes, send the condition of the vacated or incoming space. Mention any furniture left behind, adhesive residue, abandoned items or landlord handover requirements.

Is deep cleaning the same as disinfecting?

No. Deep cleaning refers to the extent of soil removal and detail work. Disinfection is a separate product-based process that must be appropriate for the surface and task.

Can a deep clean remove mold?

Mold remediation is not included in this service. Disclose suspected mold or ongoing water damage before requesting an ordinary cleaning visit.
