The front door and the rooms behind it
Santa Monica lists Downtown, Main Street, Montana Avenue and Pico Boulevard among its commercial districts. For a shop or office in those settings, the visible entrance and the less-visible staff rooms serve different purposes. Both belong in the quote if both are your responsibility.
A short opening checklist might include entry glass, a clean mat, clear floor edges and a restroom ready for use. The recurring list can add waste removal, counters, sink areas and accessible surfaces. For a business with an upstairs suite, confirm whether the stair and shared landing belong to your cleaner or the building manager.

Ask for the right work on glass and floors
Reachable door glass can be part of an ordinary visit. Larger storefront glazing, tracks and detailed frame work may need their own frequency. Tell us which side of the glass is accessible and whether displays limit access. Finish condition matters as much as the size of the window.
Floor care also starts with the material. A showroom floor, carpeted office and tiled restroom should not share an undefined treatment. Explain where soil collects and when the area can be kept clear during cleaning.

| Walkthrough item | Suggested scope | Preparation or decision |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance glass | Choose touch-mark cleaning or full panel and frame detailing. | Identify displays that prevent access to the inside face. |
| Front floor | Include the mat surround, thresholds and accessible fixture edges. | Leave time after restocking for the agreed floor pass. |
| Upper landing | List any stair or landing you want included. | Get the building contact to confirm who controls that area. |
Match service to your business day
Closing the register does not always mean the space is empty. Staff may still restock, prepare orders or clean equipment. Give the cleaning team a realistic room-release sequence so the final floor pass is not immediately crossed by deliveries or closing tasks.
- Confirm the service entrance and where equipment may be unloaded.
- Separate customer space, back office and any shared building areas.
- List stocked displays and surfaces that should be left untouched.
- For a remodel, give the contractor completion date and opening setup schedule.

Choose a recurring clean or an opening clean
Recurring janitorial work suits a space already in daily use. Post-construction cleaning addresses the dust and residue left after trades finish. If you are reopening after a smaller refresh, send photos so that the work can be assessed without assuming a full construction clean. Blended can discuss the property and provide a scope for the service you need.
